For a photographer, I really don’t have that much to show for all the places I have been and lived. As much as I love working with both digital cameras and film cameras , one might expect I would have box upon box of old photos and many dozens of digital pics stored away on CDs or in my computer that are a record of each place I have lived or the highlights of my life. It wasn’t until I saw her video of the painting process that I realized how she constructed it. When I paint, I use whatever tools are at my disposal without thinking too much about it. Sometimes my brush is wet, sometimes dry. Sometimes the paint is thick, sometimes thin. The abstract painting I did today utilizes both wet wash and dry brush . This makes the areas with opaque paint stand out even stronger. I finished by drawing black lines, feathering them with a dry brush. Acrylic on paper, 24″ x 18″

We’ll be up north, again, this coming weekend and with the moon in a waning crescent phase, I hope to do some astronomy, either with the astronomy binoculars or telescopes , though I am typically more in the mood for the binoculars when it comes time to observe. Not sure why I tend to reach for the binoculars, first, when I have a dark, clear sky; it’s just the opposite of the majority of astronomers who head for the telescope, first. Guess I am just a binocular astronomer by nature.

When it’s summer time and you got kids running up and down the dock and getting it all wet,the last thing I need to worry about is some kid falling and getting hurt.So me and my husband went and bought these non-skid vinyl traction strips and they work perfectly.We spaced them out throughout the dock and now it prevents the dock from getting slippery when wet.So now I don’t have to worry AS much for a kid falling down,but I still have my arms full.

I bought this for my little boy,he’s two,and I thought he would love it.He does,but the thing is everytime he wants to go on it,daddy has to take it for a quick little spin.I think my husband likes it more than my son.Even though my husband has his own real dirtbike,but he just thinks this is the coolest thing.It can hold up to 220lbs and goes up to 17mph.Its the coolest and cutest thing.My boys both love it and they have so much fun together

I began this new abstract painting on paper with black and ultramarine blue acrylic applied with a brush. Then I filled in some of the empty spaces with titanium white, blending with the blue and black. Next I used a wet brush to spread the blue lightly over any negative space . Finally, I drew lines with cadmium orange, and then with black, cross-hatching some of the black lines for texture.
